The Escapist 04:09
She travels with the fair If the lights keep flashing No one’s got the heart to say somethings not right So, blissfully unaware That the mood has shifted A calls gone through in a too dark room, It’s just one night, It’s not worth the fight Last night there was another explosion, No fire to the fuel have you seen those? The towns covered in ash of the last one, There’s no point repainting the old homes I’ve been playing the victim I’ve been playing the victim A storm rolls overhead, She takes off her dress. It falls straight to skin, they won’t know she got wet Was the same in the crash, Just got out quickly, And walked the hurt off, there’s too much stuff to cry about to let it out Everyone thinks I’m lacking emotion, I’ve learnt how to control my face Staying well away from devotion, leave them to fuck up at their own pace I’ve been playing the victim I’ve been playing the victim Couldn’t see the path, you took my hand and led by through the garden Didn’t wanna stop, I closed my eyes and let you push me harder Got too drunk again and poured my problems on my best friend Wonder if he’s still gonna wanna hang in the morning I’ve been playing the victim I’ve been playing the victim I’ve been playing the victim I’ve been playing the victim

Bare faced jealousy, of a pretty freak Back seat scowling broken so delicately “Your always so nice, don’t ruin it tonight.” I’m your little lamb, silently upset Gritting my teeth just to be your favourite pet I’m so fucking nice, I never speak my mind Does that make me a liar? Don’t think that’s what I’m like You’ve never said anything bad about me Is that why I don’t wanna leave? Gotta live up to it so I treat you kindly You took away my strength now I can’t get angry I’d loose it all, pull out my hair, Let the sun set on my temper Burn in crimson streaks, 'till darkness buries me Torn down the line, from what I saw To what you said, It was wasn’t her So I apologise I always end up crying You hate the jealous type You’ve never said anything bad about me Is that why I don’t wanna leave? Gotta live up to it so I treat you kindly You took away my strength now I can’t get angry I don’t know what I’m like anymore It’s been a long time and I’m defined by what you saw I think I’m the wrong kind of yours I don’t know what I’m like anymore It’s been a long time and I’m defined by what you saw I think I’m the wrong kind of yours I don’t know what I’m like anymore It’s been a long time and I’m defined by what you saw I think I’m the wrong kind of yours I think I’m the wrong kind of yours I think I’m the wrong kind of yours

Stick It Out 03:52
Your hands were over my mouth when you said you're glad, it all worked out Couldn't say where I got stuck Advocate change, with all the same old posters up Why don't you take them down? Yeah I think their music kind of sucks, but I've got all their t-shirts now So I'm gonna stick it out I have a friend he's full of good lines I write them down to repeat as mine Never seen him in a bad mood, likes to be liked, he say's if there was nothing left to prove There's so much more I'd say out loud But that's just not what people do and they like to have me around so I'm gonna stick it out The films we saw on that drive windscreens could capture cinematic light Before you let this go down I think I just got what it is about and I wanna stick it out We had big plans for going on tour never left your job in the store I smile and say it's never too late Let's take your kids, move to LA, get our big break I'm close to being put in the ground Don't you want in on the fortune I'll make Guess until then I'll hang about Well I'm glad you stuck it out

Superheroes 04:24
Seeking supernatural you called my bluff There is always so much to sleep off Awake in the early hours, alone with the crazy folk and their dogs I would have the power to shed my skin Shape-shift as a monarch or president I think there’s a danger, in playing a stranger for too long Hold on to what you’ve got, before it’s gone Ticket for a day trip to anywhere Click your fingers close your eyes your there Picking the place it’s somewhere just this, but better Try and get a picture with our past selves Tell them that the future looks like hell What if they give up, on a night alone in a cheap hotel Best to leave it, guess all’s well that ends well I would have the power to not be seen Social interaction like in a dream Show face if I wanted Just the way that my dad has always been Miss out on the best parts, then “Happy 18!” Lucky I’ve a lot to lose Lucky I’ve a lot to lose Lucky I’ve a lot to lose Lucky I’ve a lot to lose Lucky I’ve a lot to lose

about

Kitty Perrin Norwich, UK

At the age of 11, Kitty Perrin began song-writing under the unlikely guidance of DR Feelgood guitarist Gordon Russell, and by her teens she was performing regularly across the South East.

Her dreamy indie-pop melodies and conversational lyrics draw inspiration from the blunt 00s pop songs of her youth, whilst her narrative driven song-writing is more reminiscent of alternative-indie legends.
